Welcome to Adaptive Sports Week in Review, DiMe’s weekly roundup of notable results, emerging athletes and developing storylines from wheelchair basketball, adaptive golf, wheelchair rugby and beyond.

Wheelchair basketball

The NWBA’s 2026 national championships produced several notable winners. The Arkansas Rollin’ Razorbacks captured the Division II title, while the Tacoma Titans won Division III. In juniors, the Dallas Junior Wheelchair Mavericks defeated the Kansas City Kings 57–33 for the championship. NWBA championship announcement

Attention has now shifted to the 2026–27 season. Team registration is open, while recent U.S. men’s and women’s selection camps have started shaping the next national-team cycle. That makes roster announcements, athlete movement and the rebuilding of collegiate programs the next major storylines to watch.

Adaptive golf

Kipp Popert and Kim Moore won the overall men’s and women’s titles at the 2026 U.S. Adaptive Open at Woodmont Country Club. Moore posted three consecutive rounds of 76 to finish at 12-over, six strokes ahead of Bailey Bish and Sunyoung Kim. The victory was Moore’s third U.S. Adaptive Open championship. At the PING USDGA Championship, first-time competitors Carson Lane and Kim Moore emerged as the men’s and women’s overall champions. Moore’s victories at both the USDGA and USGA championships give her the defining adaptive-golf storyline of the American season. USDGA championship coverage

Wheelchair rugby

The USWRA national championships were held April 9–12 at Lakeshore Foundation in Birmingham, with competition across three divisions.
